Fall 2018 Dining Hall Renovations

September 25, 2018

While students had the chance to soak up some summer rays, we kept ourselves busy getting ready for the new school year. During the spring 2018 semester, we converted our Smart Market station into a vegan station, allowing students to have more choices to choose from outside of salads only. This conversion pushed for a few more changes and allowed for us to renovate that side of the dining hall.

While our Sustenance area once consisted of our main line station and our Smart Market station, it is now strictly the main line station where students can still enjoy “comfort foods from home”. Our vegan station has been rebranded as Trellis.

Students may remember that during breakfast, this station also had make-your-own waffles. During the renovation, a corner station was put in just inside the doors by the front desk. This is our new waffle station where students can still make-their-own waffles for breakfast.

Our renovation of Sustenance and the introduction of our new vegan station, Trellis, brought with it new equipment. This brand new equipment is ENERGY STAR rated equipment. ENERGY STAR is the trusted, government‐ backed symbol for energy efficiency helping to save money and protect the environment through energy‐efficient products and practices. The ENERGY STAR label was established to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants caused by the inefficient use of energy; and make it easy for consumers to identify and purchase energy‐efficient products that offer savings on energy bills without sacrificing performance, features, and comfort.
