Menu items at the Restaurants at Ben Franklin are prepared using recipes and ingredients that do not contain tree nuts or peanuts. All RBF recipes are prepared in a facility that also prepares recipes with allergens such as soy, egg, fish, shellfish, wheat, and gluten. Please be advised that we cannot control exposure to food allergens or gluten by food manufacturers or our suppliers.
Simple Servings is Sodexo’s innovative solution to proactively address most of the ingredients that account for 90% of all food-allergy reactions: milk, eggs, wheat, soy, shellfish, peanuts, and tree nuts. The 8th FDA-specified allergen, finfish, is included in the offer. Simple Servings also recognizes the current skyrocketing demand for gluten-free foods, which certain students may require out of medical necessity (Celiac disease) or simply by choice. Simple Servings also appeals to students who prefer plain and simple foods and those with other health-related dietary concerns, such as Type I diabetes.
With Simple Servings, students can comply with food allergies or other dietary concerns without feeling singled out. They won’t have to go off-campus for their meals or miss out on dining with their friends while waiting for the chef to specially prepared their meals. All foods offered at the Simple Serving station are naturally free of milk, eggs, wheat, soy, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, and gluten. Straightforward preparation techniques assure transparency of ingredients and help students prepare to be responsible for their own shopping and cooking in the future. The lunch and dinner menu change daily and include varied protein options: fish, beef, pork, chicken, and turkey. All side dishes are vegan, containing no milk, eggs, or meat products.
Trellis is our plant-forward station where our chefs have created menus to satisfy those looking for plant-based meal options. You’ll also be able to find plant-based breakfast options in the morning as well. Don’t forget to check out our plant-based desserts as well.
At our Sustenance station, you can find items like fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on cob, macaroni and cheese, chicken pot pie, and more. During breakfast, you can make your own parfait or yogurt bowl as well as partake in eggs, breakfast meats, and breakfast potatoes.
Check out the Mongolian grill at World Affairs which features build your own rice bowls for lunch and dinner and made-to-order omelets and eggs during breakfast. World Affairs also features our full fresh salad bar and fresh fruit selection daily.
Restaurante Verde features pizza made with hand-tossed pizza dough made from scratch by our chef’s daily. Restaurante Verde also offers made-to-order pasta dishes for a delicious Italian meal.
Kite and Key
The Kite and Key is our Grill and Deli Station. At each meal, we offer a different selection of items hot off of the grill and straight to your plate. Our Deli is always fresh with a variety of local ingredients! Enjoy made to order sandwiches and wraps. The deli portion of Kite and Key is only open for made to order sandwiches and wraps during lunch hours Monday-Friday. During dinner service, the deli is set up to build-your-own sandwiches.
